Now for the ingredient list, it will include one quarter cup of extra virgin olive oil as well as one teaspoon separated. Have yourself one bunch of fresh parsley, chopped, one and half pound of Yukon gold potatoes. Two 10 oz packages of frozen spinach. Make sure they are thawed and drained before using them for this recipe. You will also need two cubanelle peppers which are sliced. Two medium sized tomatoes, one of which is diced and the other one is halved. Five garlic cloves roughly chopped, four tablespoons of fresh oregano. As for the portion of fish, you can use whatever fillet of fish you like. The best selections include cod, halibut, tilapia or red snapper. Six fillets will be perfect to serve a few people. Before cooking the Greek Style Fish Stew, make sure you take safety precautions. You will be using hot temperatures as well as sharp tools, you make sure you are situated comfortable and you have no distractions which can lead to errors.
And now it’s time to cook. First, take your extra teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and rub it around your baking pan. Get it nicely on the sides and in the corners with your fingers for even distribution. Next, put all of your fresh chopped parsley along the bottom of the pan. This is typical around the Mediterranean to use herbs and spices in large quantities. It brings out the aromatics and flavor. Next, lay out the potatoes the same as the herbs. After you lay the potatoes evenly, you will want to take the thawed and drained frozen spinach and layer it on top of your potatoes. Once you have laid out the spinach, scatter the cubanelle peppers on top of the spinach. And next, take the oregano and place it on top of the peppers evenly. Place the fish evenly on top of the already made layers. Get them close together and keep them stacked evenly. Once you have laid out all of the fish, go ahead and toss on the chopped garlic and add in your diced tomato. Top your assembled ingredients with the sea salt and ground pepper.
Now, combine the remaining olive oil, flour and paprika in a separate container. Mix it up evenly. This will be the basis for the sauce and will also act as a thickening agent and bring out a real nice flavor. Carefully add a half cup of water to the sides of the pan to help cook the vegetables. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and cook for 40-45 minutes. Ovens can be tricky, so visual confirmation of what the fish looks like is good to follow.
After baking, you will notice immediately how fragrant it smells. You will be mesmerized by the unique Mediterranean scent, it’s like you can see your Clash Royale game come to life! Cut into it in portion sizes that you like and keep a small, cut lemon to the side and serve to your group of guests.
